Class #7: Mindfulness

In this English class we talk about some very new topics. First, the teacher showed us a video about how learning a new language can change our thoughts and help us improve our learning ability. Then he told us about the final works, which are a podcast and a video essay, on a specific topic. What resonated with me was the importance of emotional well-being at school and how the practice of mindfulness helps in that process. Lastly, the teacher allowed us to practice our language skills through some exercises.

With this in mind, in this blog I would like to talk about how mindfulness can help us improve our well-being and how it can help us in learning a language. Mindfulness is all about being present in the moment and paying attention to what's happening around us. It helps us to calm our minds and reduce stress, which can have a positive impact on our overall well-being. By practicing mindfulness, we can learn to manage our emotions better and respond to situations with clarity and focus, leading to a greater sense of peace and contentment in our lives.

In language learning, mindfulness can be a valuable tool for staying focused and engaged during study sessions. By practicing mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing or body scanning, learners can enhance their concentration and retention of new information. Mindfulness also encourages us to approach language learning with curiosity and openness, allowing us to appreciate the beauty of language and the cultural nuances embedded within it. By incorporating mindfulness into our language learning routine, we can cultivate a deeper connection to the language and enjoy a more enriching and fulfilling learning experience.
